continental : Locate this plant in a partially shady spot, where it is exposed to sunrays during the coolest hours of the day.
When thesummer begins we can move the the Oncidium outside.

alpine : Let's favour partially shaded places for the the Oncidium , where they can enjoy direct sunlight for some hours a day.
These plants aren't rustic, they can't stand minimum temperatures below 15°C; during the summer season they can be located outdoors, but somewhere sheltered by the wind.

mediterranean : The Oncidium prefers cool and not too sunny spots; therefore let's choose a position in which it is exposed to solar rays only during the coolest hours of the day.
These plants can be grown outdoors only during the hot season, because they can’t stand temperatures below 15° C.

Irrigation Oncidium

continental : Water regularly, every 0-1 weeks, wetting the soil deep down, but waiting for the substratum to dry completely between a watering and the other; avoid leaving stagnant water. Usually 2-3 glasses of water are used.

alpine : We suggest regular watering with 1-2 glasses of water about every 1-2 weeks, waiting for the soil to dry between one time and the other.

mediterranean : Every 0-0 weeks we should intervene with water, irrigating the soil only if it is dry; we suggest avoiding water stagnations by using 3-4 glasses of water.

Feed Oncidium : In this period of the year let’s fertilize our orchids every 15-20 days, adding a specific fertilizer to our irrigating water; let’s remember to let the soil drain well and to avoid leaving the roots soaking in the fertilizing solution for a long time.

Adversity Oncidium : Let’s use the insecticides only when there are insects; we should avoid vaporizing the flowers with insecticide products.
